Our Mission

The Arc of East Central Iowa empowers individuals with disabilities and their families to engage in lifelong opportunities to live, learn, work, play, and advocate with full dignity and inclusion in their communities.

TOUCH -A- TRUCK

Get up close and personal with over 40 large vehicles including agricultural, construction, military, first responder, service and more all in one place! Event will be held at Kirkwood Community College – North Parking Lot of Linn Hall.

Saturday, August 10th from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
*11:00 – Noon – Will be sensory hour. No lights or sirens will be used during this time.

Free will donations will be collected to support The Arc of East Central Iowa.

There will also be food trucks, music, activities and more!

Nominate someone to be recognized at our Annual Meeting on Monday, September 30th.
Nomination deadline is August 31st.

Direct Service Professional (DSP) of the Year

To recognize a direct care staff member who demonstrates exceptional sensitivity to people with disabilities and who exhibits quality work within the position held.
Nominations to come from program supervisors and caregivers.

Super Sibling of the Year

To recognize a brother or sister who has demonstrated through his/her actions a positive attitude that enhances the quality of life for their sibling with a disability. The person who is selected serves as a role model, peer and mentor to his/her sibling in their home and in the community.
Nominations to come from parents/caregivers.
