We are seeking a Program Specialist to assist coordinators with day-to-day planning and implementation of individualized care plans, activities, and nutritional guidelines in our site based programs. This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join a fast-paced service-oriented team in enhancing the lives of people with disabilities through advocacy, inclusion, and skill training. The position combines professional and direct-care duties.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and mentoring part time employees and activity planning with an emphasis on social skills, recreational activities, and safety skills with a commitment to community inclusion. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for monitoring DHS and HCBS regulatory compliances and quality assurance oversight of documentation.  

Candidates should have a minimum one-year experience in education, daycare, or providing direct services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Proficiency using MS Office, Internet and Windows, and the ability to work flexible hours between 6:30 a.m. & 6:30 p.m. Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills, be effective problem solvers, possess strong leadership skills, have the ability to work independently, and prioritize tasks. Ability to build relationships with families, agency professionals, volunteers, interns, direct service providers, program evaluators, and industry professionals is key to this position. At minimum, an Associate’s Degree is required. Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or Education with Special Education endorsement, or other relevant field of study is preferred. Must be able to pass DHS physical examination and have vehicle insurance and a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain a chauffeur’s license.
