Service, advocacy, inclusion, family, and community are what The Arc is about. The Arc of East Central Iowa offers multiple programs and services in eight counties in Iowa. We deliver high quality programs that produce results. More importantly, we improve the quality of life for individuals and families affected by mental retardation, epilepsy, autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, ADHD, and brain injury. We believe in building better lives for people with disabilities and their families.

The Arc of East Central Iowa empowers people with intellectual and related disabilities to engage in lifelong opportunities to live, learn, work and play with dignity, freedom and full inclusion in their communities.

The Arc of East Central Iowa started in 1953 when families came together to gain services for their children who were affected by mental retardation. Since our inception, we have worked closely with families in the community. Today, The Arc provides advocacy and service to thousands of individuals and families in East Central Iowa.
